Eduardo wants Slavia chance - 6 Nov 2007
Striker aims to start in Champions League
Eduardo de Silva is determined to be part of another Arsenal goal glut against Slavia Prague in the UEFA Champions League.
The Gunners hammered Slavia 7-0 at Emirates Stadium a fortnight ago and play the return game in the Czech capital on Wednesday.
Summer signing Eduardo has made just one appearance in the group phase to date, scoring in the 3-0 victory over Sevilla as a substitute.
But the Croatia international has called on Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger to give him a chance against Slavia as the Premier League leaders aim to book a place in the knockout stage.
The match in London was just incredible," said Eduardo in the News of the World.
"Arsenal provided a hurricane of goals, so much so that 7-0 left us short.
"It was the best match from an attacking point of view I have ever seen, so I really want to be in the starting line-up this time to profit from the number of chances I think we will create.
"Another victory will nearly secure first place in the group.
"Slavia will want revenge and we must play intelligently and avoid the kicks because I believe that the Czechs will be furious about what happened to them at the Emirates." |
