In the 10.30pm incident on Saturday which occurred at Bt 6 Lekir, six people died on the spot while Mohd Hisam succumbed at the Manjung Hospital intensive care unit.

ASP Ismail said trailer driver Abdul Rashid Abdul Aziz, 49, and Khairul Faiz Mohd Noor, 17, and two other unidentified passengers of the MPV were not seriously hurt.

In JOHOR BARU, two friends who were on their way home after New Year celebrations were killed when the car they were travelling in hit a tree at KM42 of the Air Hitam-Johor Baru road at Kulaijaya.
