Assume the fat guy is talking the truth. He says the tall guy said yes, when the professor asked whether he's speaking the truth or not. Then the fat guy says the tall guy is the liar. Fat guy says tall guy answered "yes"(no), and that the tall guy is "the liar"(the one who speaks the truth) So if the tall guy is indeed speaking the truth, why will he answer No when the professor asked him? This assumption does not hold.
