When German Seat dealer Claus Kobia decided he wanted to offer his customers a faster Cupra R option, tuning firm JE Design jumped at the opportunity. What they created was a car with a wide body design and a performance tuned engine that will be individualized for each customer.
Hopefully, the car's color scheme can also be personalized, because that hood is hideous.
Horsepower output on the car is increased by 45 percent to 310 PS (228 kW), while peak torque is improved by 14 percent to 400 Nm. Changes come from a remapped engine control unit, with a new quad tailpipe exhaust installed at the back. The result is a Cupra R that is 0.3 seconds quicker to 100 km/h, hitting the mark from a standstill in 5.9 seconds. Top speed on the car is listed at 260 km/h, up from 250.
To give the car the look of added sportiness, a wide body package was installed, that includes larger wheel arches, a new front, middle, and rear spoiler, headlamp masks, side skirts, and a rear apron with diffuser. LED daytime runners were also installed at the front. To round out the look, the car was dropped by 40mm, and 10x18-inch glossy black wheels were added.
The R Deutschland package from JE Design and Autohaus Kobia is available for €8,166 complete, though parts may also be purchased separately. |
