While the gap between rich and poor increases in Hong Kong, and more and more families cannot afford three square meals a day, at the end of the day supermarkets are pouring bleach over food rather than sell it at a discount or give it to charities. , U( t. m  a- A) |6 K

The post-80s have already made a considerable mark on Hong Kong's political scene. Now, welcome to the post-90s. While some worry that as those who remember the events of June 4th 1989 most vividly get older the passion will be lost, a new generation is becoming increasingly involved in marking the Tiananmen Square crackdown.公仔箱論壇% U) |  S& a" J3 |' |# R

Y公仔箱論壇It's not just a new generation that's getting involved, as more people from the mainland visit Hong Kong  for study, work, or travel, they are learning about an incident that has been kept from most in the country for 23 years. Some are taking the opportunity to learn more while here from a temporary June 4th museum, some are taking part in the protests. And even on the mainland itself, public protests have been in evidence this year.

" H+ X( |/ }3 a' `' H6 c& y; EFinally this week, in a new book former Beijing mayor Chen Xitong, widely seen as one of the individuals who called for military force to be used on June 4th 1989, says he is getting an unfair rap. He claims he knew little of what went on, and that later corruption charges against him were trumped up. Does he have a point? Or is he just trying to whitewash his image for posterity?
