剛於日前結束的2013紐約車展中，主辦單位也照慣例頒佈「2013 World Car Award」的獎項，WCA獎項是由來自全球66位的汽車媒體從業人員擔任評審，票選出當年度包含風雲車、最佳跑車、最佳綠能車與最佳汽車設計四個獎項，其中2013年度風雲車在先前的報導中已經知道是由VW Golf七代獲得，而最佳跑車也是由同集團的Porsche Boxster╱Cayman拿下，綠能車則是由純電力驅動的Tesla Model S拿下；而最後一項「World Car Design of the Year」年度汽車設計獎，也在日前紐約車展結束前頒出，由Jaguar F-Type拿下冠軍。

Jaguar F-Type在去年巴黎車展首度發表，以Jaguar的CX-16概念車衍生而來，在量產前於北美以概念車型發表的時候就已經得到了最佳概念車獎，車頭部分不改Jaguar一貫的侵略感，加上引擎蓋上突起了power bulge線條，在兩側延伸的設計上不僅給視覺上提點出修長的軸距，躍動感更是如同Jaguar舊款廠徽一般。 F-Type前置後驅，搭載3.0升V6和5.0 升V8引擎，各有340匹和495匹最大馬力。V8車型時速0到100公里加速僅4.3秒。V6有F-Type和F-Type S兩車型，前者時速0到100公里加速5,1秒，後者4.9秒。全車系都是配備8速自排變速箱。

與F-Type角逐最佳汽車設計的其他43款當代偉大汽車設計，包含了剛在台灣發表的Aston Martin Vanquish以及下一世代的Mazda6，能夠在這些強敵環伺下得到66位評審一致的肯定實屬不易。
