[歐洲] 數十萬紅蟹澳洲中學橫行

數十萬隻紅噹噹的紅蟹（red crab）在聖誕假前一周，突到訪澳洲聖誕島（Christmas Island）一間中學，在走廊、課室及教職員室橫行。校長解釋，學校背靠森林，每年潮濕季節有大批紅蟹爬出來，途經中學再到海岸掘洞交配。校方每天早上派員用耙子耙走校門前的紅蟹，保護牠們不被校巴輾斃。

聖誕島是澳洲於印度洋的海外領地，位於印度洋東北部，為火山島，約有1,493人居住。聖誕島是大中華區以外，世界上少數以華人佔多數的地區（另一為新加坡），官方語言為英語。

The migration of red Crab in Christmas Island is a very famous phenomenon.  If I was not mistaken, I believe it is estimated about 40 million red crab in Christmas Island and every Christmas the red crabs will march to the sea shore to lay their eggs.  The whole island becomes red and moving !
