Although BP set aside $32.2 billions for the cost of clean-up, it is still too early to finalize the bill. If there were many litigation for compensation, the final bill may double, according to some analysts. Bob Dudley, the new chief, surely has a formidable task ahead. He is a more diplomatic man who may be able to soothe the relationship of BP with US, and in some way, restores the tarnished image of the company. Whether he is a fixer that can change the culture of company, stressing more on the safety of its operations is yet to be seen. With the cap successfully stopping the oil spill and the rising stock price, BP's future is not that gloomy. |
