[新聞] BMW Extends xDrive to all 5 Series GT/740d Engine Variants

BMW will soon introduce the xDrive permanent all-wheel-drive system to all variants of the 5 Series Gran Turismo as well as the 740d. First to get it will be the 530d xDrive GT and 550i xDrive GT, both slated for June market launch in Germany. Then in September the 535d xDrive GT and 535i xDrive GT will be introduced. The 740d xDrive also comes into market in September.
XDrive was originally used by X vehicles like the X5 and X3, but now extends to a number of sedan models too. It works by continuously distributing power electronically to the correct axle and wheels at all times.
All engines remain the same, including 300 kW (402 bhp / 408 PS) of twin turbo V8 power for the 550i xDrive GT and 220 kW (295 bhp / 299 PS) for the 535d xDrive GT.
