Van der Sar to help out injury-hit Holland
THE HAGUE: Manchester United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar has temporarily come out of international retirement to help Holland in World Cup qualifiers against Iceland and Norway.
Coach Bert van Marwijk named the 37-year-old Van der Sar in his 22-man squad after Maarten Stekelenburg sustained a shoulder injury, with Henk Timmer also uncertain with a groin injury.
Utrecht goalkeeper Michel Vorm has also been named in the squad for the games against Iceland in Rotterdam on Oct 11 and away against Norway four days later. |
