Henry set for winter return to England
MADRID: Unsettled Barcelona striker Thierry Henry was yesterday tipped by the Spanish media for a winter return to the English Premier League.
The France international joined Barca after an eight year spell with Arsenal in a 24mil euro deal in 2007, but has largely failed to make his mark and on Friday he told a local radio station about his desire to see more of his daughter, who lives in London.
“At the moment I’m not thinking about leaving,” Henry told Radio Catalunya according to yesterday’s As daily.
He added: “But sometimes things happen in your life that you’re not thinking about.
”Obviously my life is in London because I have my daughter there,”
AS declared that Henry intimated he could leave Barca “in January” at the next transfer window.
The paper’s opinion was echoed by catalan daily Sport which said that Henry wanted to “discuss” his situation if Barca coach Pep Guardiola continued to use him on the left rather than in his favoured central attack position. |
