Almunia - Man United is just another game
Manuel Almunia is trying to treat Saturday’s all-important game with Manchester United like any other.
Arsenal are above Sir Alex Ferguson’s side in the table by the merest of margins - goals scored - so the Emirates Stadium clash is being seen as a massive marker in the race for the title.
But then the same was being said of Sunday’s trip to Anfield and Arsenal passed that test in some style. The only question mark was whether they should have taken all three points rather than just one.
Almunia, who was excellent in the 1-1 draw, said: “For me this was a great point for us. It was a hard game.
“We played very well and moved the ball quickly but Liverpool are one of the best teams in the League defensively. So it was especially important for us to take points away from home against teams like this.
“Now we have Manchester United on Saturday and that will be very hard for us. We don’t care which team is coming — Manchester United, Chelsea or Fulham — we just need to take the three points at home.” |
