Roma play down Spalletti talk

Roma do not expect coach Luciano Spalletti to join Chelsea despite Roman Abramovich’s reported interest in the Italian.
Spalletti has emerged as a strong contender for the Stamford Bridge post after Carlo Ancelotti's refusal to entertain the prospect of leaving Milan.
The likes of Guus Hiddink and Mark Hughes are also off the agenda despite being linked with the role and Chelsea have reportedly turned to the man who led Roma to second place in Serie A and Coppa Italia glory this season.
The Giallorossi are understandably keen to keep hold of their head coach though.
"Spalletti is the Roma coach and as far as we are aware will continue to be the Roma coach next season," said a senior club official.
"Moreover, Spalletti is under contract with Roma until 2011."
Meanwhile, it appears unlikely that Frank Rijkaard is a contender for the job at Stamford Bridge as his agent, Perry Overeem, claims there has been no contact from the Premier League giants.
Rijkaard’s representative believes that Ancelotti remains the frontrunner despite his public declaration that he is keen to stay in Milan.
“I am 100 percent certain there has been no contact from Chelsea,” Overeem told the Daily Star.
“If they were interested in Frank they should have been in touch by now. Right now Frank is on holiday.
“Everyone I speak to says Ancelotti is going to take the job, at short notice.”
