Zico open to English challenge
Reported Manchester City managerial contender Zico has admitted that he would love to test himself in The Premier League.
The Brazil legend, who looks set to leave Turkish club Fenerbahce after leading them to the Champions League quarter final last season, has been mentioned as a possible replacement for Sven Goran Eriksson after his departure from Eastlands.
City’s number one choice appears to be Mark Hughes after they were given permission to speak to the Blackburn boss but if Chelsea scupper their approach, then the highly-regarded Zico could well be an option.
The presence of such a Brazilian icon would no doubt help City in their attempt to lure Ronaldinho to the club and Zico is certainly attracted by the possibility of moving to England.
“I would like to work in England,” Zico told Sbs TV. “I think it is a tantalising prospect.
“My path is still in Europe. I thank Fenerbahce for giving me a chance and I repaid their support with good work on the field.
“I have some possibilities and I hope to resolve one as soon as possible.
“My problem with Fenerbahce is not money, but professional issues.” |
