由農村到文化大國開幕禮展現英社會演變

本港時間今晨4時，倫敦奧運會正式開幕。歷時3小時、耗資2,700萬英鎊（3.28億港元）的開幕禮在東倫敦奧林匹克體育館舉行，儘管人人預期它不及四年前京奧那樣壯觀，但當局希望透過這場文藝表現，展現英國如何由昔日農村社會逐步發展成為今日流行文化大國的進程。儘管部份細節廣為流傳，但最後如何燃點聖火盆，保密工夫十足，最令人期待。TVBNOW 含有熱門話題，最新最快電視，軟體，遊戲，電影，動漫及日常生活及興趣交流等資訊。% L, ?: n# M- a2 h

「奇幻之島」為主題表演以「奇幻之島」（ Isles of Wonder）為主題，靈感來自莎士比亞名作《暴風雨》（ The Tempest）。首部份展示英式幽默和田園風光，最大特色是有70隻綿羊、12匹馬、10隻雞和9隻鵝參與演出，並有一場鄉村木球賽。其間，現場豎起四支分別代表英格蘭、威爾斯、蘇格蘭和北愛爾蘭的花柱。

不設劃位80元首入場爭位坐

今次倫奧開幕禮會有6萬人入場觀看，當中包括80名國家元首親身見證這場體壇盛事，但基於保安理由，這批領導人一律要坐官方提供的巴士到場館，而場館座位更是先到先得，隨時出現爭位坐的尷尬情況。% k9 x; Y' b; o% Y9 R+ S& g

英國外交部日前表示，倫奧開幕禮會有破紀錄120名外國領袖出席，但截至前日（周四）落實赴會的只有約80人，人數跟上屆京奧開幕式相若，當中包括美國第一夫人米歇爾、俄羅斯總理梅德韋杰夫、土耳其總理埃爾多安（ Recep Tayyip Erdogan）、法國總理艾羅（ Jean-Marc Ayrault）、巴西總統羅塞夫（ Dilma Rousseff）及瑞典皇室成員等。

威廉哈里見證華裔義工傳聖火

Olympic bosses have promised to investigate major sponsors after banks of empty seats were spotted at several sold-out Games venues today.

Several high-profile venues, including the Aquatics Centre in the Olympic Park and the gymnastics arena in North Greenwich, had rows of empty seats during morning sessions on the first day of the Games., e6 {4 H, c O6 C% p1 R3 q

Locog said they would be investigating why the seats were unfilled, while Lord Coe has reportedly promised to name and shame sponsors who did not find takers for the venues.
