The incessant crying of a child for about 10 hours up to 1am Monday prompted a disturbed neighbour to take action, resulting in the rescue of a six-year-old girl locked up alone at her flat in Jalan Perak here. 公仔箱論壇1 E- c6 Q7 A, L
The neighbour, who declined to be identified, said she heard the girl crying from about 3pm Sunday.! S) a! O6 D, i7 z
"I contacted the police early today when the girl kept on crying," she said.
+ K" d1 S7 v7 f0 V4 N+ | A police spokesman said a team of policemen and Social Welfare Department personnel rushed to the flat Monday morning and forced their way in to see a frightened girl with injuries on her hands, legs and body, apparently the result of physical abuse.
# @% \. K2 G0 b" t5.39.217.76 She had been left alone at the flat by her father, who was spotted by neighbours returning to the housing estate but fled when he noticed policemen at his flat.
