Barcelona is a very unique European city with many fantastic architecture from Gaudi who aslo created furnitures. People are very relax, they have tapas and drinks all afternoon and only have dinner not early than 21:00. The cost for a tourist is reasonable when compared with UK or France.  However, beware of pickpockets especially when you are wearing backpacks.
