Campus Police is supposed to be trained hand to hand combat and weapon handling.  They have full set of rules to govern the usage of weapon.  Hence, I suspect the incident was a lot more violent than it sounded otherwise the police would not have drawn the gun out and shot the student.  Interested to read the autopsy and trial report !
