It is really nothing when compared with what Tony Hayward goes through today before US house energy and subcommittee. Hayward is relentlessly grilled and the attack on BP is not going to abate. Obama is not off the hook yet. With the latest estimate of leakage of up to 60,000 barrels a day and no definite time to stop the spill, the pressure and political heat on his government would persist. In fact, both BP and Obama are talking about the percentage of oil that would be reduced because there were no reliable figures for the initial leakage. As BP is composed of several different entities across the globe, the BP Holding North America Inc is one subsidiary operating in North America directly responsible for the spill. This one may be sacrificed to contain the damage. |
