Motion-picture musical about an orphan boy living in the streets of London, England, during the 19th century, based on the often-filmed 1960 play by Lionel Bart adapted from the novel Oliver Twist (1837-1839) by Charles Dickens. Released in 1968, this film won six Academy Awards including Best Picture and Best Director for British director Carol Reed.
