　　倉本聰透露：「『風之花園』含有『冥河』彼岸的花園的意思。中井貴一將要飾演的是人如何走向彼岸，即 如何迎接人生的最後時刻。並且，這也許是我們以富良野為背景的最後一部連續劇。也正因如此，我們才取了個『人最後的回歸地』這樣的名字。」

　　為了讓劇中有一年四季交織的鏡頭，倉本聰故意把故事的結局寫在了秋天。並且已於去年拍好了秋景和冬景，演員們將在百花爭鳴的本月中旬正式上陣。
