在新聞部門工作的女強人岩谷（加藤小雪），因爲個性不茍言笑，雖然有哈佛大學的高學歷，卻被私底下稱爲木頭娃娃。在發現自己的男朋友居然跟別的女人懷孕之後，她下定決心下定決心下次要找個學歷身高收入都比她高的男性。因爲上班時打了上司一拳，所以被調到不起眼的生活情報部門。經歷工作與愛情的雙重打擊，失意的她更是關起心扉不讓任何人接近。這一天居然在家門口撿到一個紙箱，裡面居然是一個男孩。男孩醒了之後，便賴在岩谷家裡不走，岩谷提出條件說若當她的寵物就可以住在她家。
