Manchester United will look at expanding Old Trafford again to make it into a near 90,000-seater stadium - as big as Wembley.
The Premier League and European Cup winners already have a 76,500 arena after several rebuilding programmes.
Sir Alex Ferguson has urged the club to build up the two corners of the main stand and increase the capacity to 82,000.
But last night United's chief executive David Gill revealed the long term plan is to eventually make Old Trafford even bigger than that.
He said: "We turn away a large number of fans every game and if we put the capacity up I'm sure it would be well received." Gill has also revealed the club are planning to erect a statue of Ferguson at Old Trafford to salute his achievements at the club.
