Liverpool have confirmed that goalkeeper Pepe Reina has left the team hotel in Villarreal to be with his wife ahead of the birth of their second child.
Reina flew out to Spain with the Reds squad on Tuesday morning but soon after reaching the hotel he travelled to be with his wife.
Depending on the events of the coming hours the Liverpool goalkeeper may still rejoin his teammates and take part in Wednesday night's friendly, which has been organised as part of the deal which saw Reina leave Villarreal for Liverpool two years ago.
