I've been living in Australia for 20 years.
I'm happy with the life style here.
I don't found it boring here.

It also depends on which city you go to.
Applying a stereotype of people in HK, you should find Sydney to be only slightly less exciting as HK. Public transport is also acceptable in Sydney, in which they are late and dirty by HK standard, but at least they get you to where you want to go.
Melbourne is also similar to Sydney, with a hint of European cities - London reminded me a crowded version of Melbourne when I was there.

a little bit. I have been stay in Perh for 4 years already. it was boring compare with Hk. hk is a tiny place, so you can buy, eat, play anywhere in few mins.
On the other hand, Aus is a big town, you only can see tree and big sky.. actually, if you like it, you wont feel bored.

Australia is a huge place, there are really boring place, and there are better, exciting place. It really depends on what sort of lifestyle you are looking for, 23million people can't be wrong.
Is HK exciting? It is overpopulated, people live in a shoebox, high density living is what typical Australian don't enjoy. In HK, leaving at 5pm is almost consider half day, people work too much, enjoy little, this is also what typical Australian don't enjoy, Australian like to spent their weekend in the park, BBQ, have a beer, etc, this is what they consider leisure, enjoy the nature, something most HK people find boring.作者: geniusandy 時間: 2013-10-8 08:36 PM

But I really love here Sydney, it is awesome!
You can do bush walking, marathon, coastal walk, fishing, boat fishing, rock fishing, kayak fishing, wind surfing, diving, driving in rural areas, golf, rubby, etc.... So beautiful here. All these activities probably are not popular in HK.

If you stick with what you do in HK and apply that to anywhere else and expecting you can do that 100% or 100+%, you'll surely find the world boring.
So, open your mind, explore the new world, try different life style. Listen to the music from the nature, look at the sky and enjoy the stars, which you will not be able to do in HK. Australia is the best compare with most western countries. I have been here for over 10 years. Sydney is similar to Hong Kong, you can stay quiet in a park for the weekend or go out to shop if you prefer a more crowded life. It depends on what kind of life style you want for yourself. The things I like Australia is you can afford your own house and have a family here. The housing prices gone sky high in Hong Kong which most people can't afford them. no where in the world are more interesting and exciting than Hong Kong, you can find everything you need in term of foods and entertainment in one block in Hong Kong, also people in Hong Kong more outgoing so they can get together to eat, drink and make more and more friends, a lot of people from Hong Kong don't want to stay in other countries is because they don't have friends, or make friends, no entertainment, food taste bad outside of Hong Kong unless you can pay higher price. In reality, if you don't want to change, stay in Hong Kong where you enjoy the most, move to other countries, you have to learn there culture, there life, and try to blend in, not trying to do the samething in Hong Kong, it's not going to work out that way. i have been here for 40 plus years, i quite the weather here in melbourne, but the living is very expensive, council rate is over 2k per year, water bill, power bill, gas bill, and medical bill. they are expensive like there is no tomorrow. if you don't earn a good wages then you won't be able to effort to get a house of paying those bill. 感覺上係澳洲住無樓上啲人講得咁貴，醫療大多數政府保。 （睇普通醫生都唔駛錢，買藥先要）
水電費其實唔貴。
council rate 其實都係一個quarter一次。
