English translation of the original # I7 {2 H, i& W; B: w8 H7 k8 j- y! `
The original song was written in 1933 by two Hungarians, Rezso Seress (music)

! l2 b/ E- A; E! S) e公仔箱論壇only -- the last stanza was added later, also first in Hungarian,

It is if at all possible, much gloomier than the first two stanzas, almost apocalyptic. tvb now, tvbnow, bttvb; L% w1 W9 g  M, ]! r
It looks like the pessimism of the song was too much for the translators and they made their translation a happier one. 公仔箱論壇( r4 C7 m7 H+ {( y5 b) C% B
In that case one might argue that the translator has done a bad job tvb now,tvbnow,bttvb8 Q3 q' b0 j+ j, s$ r* R. X5 a. @" H5 ]
and 'ruined' the song, or in other words: a translator has to maintain the original spirit 公仔箱論壇+ F3 _5 E/ }& ~$ A' D$ [" u
and intentions of the song. On the other hand,
- I" |; @' E# D- o% T* h9 x公仔箱論壇a translator may also be more than just a translator and based on the original create a new song.

Zoe Orosz also made a translation into English of the original Hungarian song, adding:
0 S; G4 e/ n- v2 W/ _tvb now, tvbnow, bttvbIt looks like Javor wrote the first part and Seress the second. It is very-very gloomy.

The war Zoe mentions could be the First World War, as the song originates from the 1930s. 9 K* [% A' i1 J1 v6 Q- n

+ U0 ~( f+ O3 F- I公仔箱論壇Someone said that:
% Q1 ^* ^' _1 g- rTVBNOW 含有熱門話題,最新最快電視,軟體,遊戲,電影,動漫及日常生活及興趣交流等資訊。I like this song very much! It is a little jazzy, and Sarah's singing and the music create the right mood for the song.
4 A; _2 |5 g6 WOne thing is very strange, though. The mood changes between the second and the third stanza,
6 j- q9 o* B* C  \( o6 ]tvb now,tvbnow,bttvbbecause she wakes up and realises that the gloomy first two stanzas were nothing but a dream and the third stanza is then more chearful. 公仔箱論壇5 [2 s" ?5 X; S+ J4 M2 |" j
This change of mood is strangely rather abrupt:
$ i: r  X5 b. t# pthe pause is less than a second -- Sarah has barely enough time to catch her breath.
- u% W1 @6 b; n8 j5 M3 {5.39.217.76I would have expected the change in mood between stanzas two and three to be build up a little more gradually,
" V) \( I5 V1 n( }/ vin five to ten seconds or so. After all, waking up and realising that it was a dream takes time. 公仔箱論壇) z; T2 |3 p2 n, a
Hazan suggested that the last stanza could still be part of the dream: the singer has lost her lover, 5.39.217.765 Z/ J- ^# D! [. [+ t
continues her mourning in her dream, and as a reaction to the pain wishes it was all but a dream:
+ v  @  a& o; N" s2 B+ H" R5.39.217.76"I find you asleep in the deep of my heart", not next to her in bed. 5.39.217.76% P# c4 A" F* c9 F; k4 C( v
I do not think this is what is meant here. The change of mood, the use of the words
  q$ V0 H, u- @  c. D5 i7 i% _, J% V公仔箱論壇"I was only dreaming / I wake" and also the lines "I hope / 5.39.217.76" B/ c7 r4 E0 g5 i5 d/ b2 x
that my dream never haunted you" make me think that the singer has woken up 5.39.217.76) m0 d8 ~% \! H
