英國西南大水逾800戶被淹
【綜合報道】據英國環境署稱，英格蘭西南多個郡和威爾士部分地區遭受風暴帶來的突發性洪災影響已有超過800戶住宅被淹。6 E' _" l; N& y; Y

Mr Benyon hit out at the insurance industry for what he said was a 'rather demeaning' attempt to highlight negotiations over future cover on the back of the latest floods. Ministers are locked in talks with insurers over the replacement for a 'safety net' deal to make sure those in flood risk areas can afford cover, which is due to expire next year.
The Flood Insurance Statement of Principles commits insurers to continue to offer insurance to existing customers where they are at significant risk, if there are plans in place to reduce that risk within five years. Town hall chiefs have warned that 200,000 are at risk of being priced out without a new deal being struck.

Helston town mayor Jonathan Radford-Gaby said four families were evacuated from their homes near the Cober on Saturday evening as a precautionary measure. But he said the town's property had largely escaped unscathed, despite the concern for life.
He said: 'It appears that most of the more serious flooding was outside Helston. There were some major problems with the roads, the police had to close one of the worst affected, but thankfully it seems that property has escaped the worst of it.'
The mayor said residents spent the weekend offering support to those who needed assistance most, and added: 'The neighbourly spirit here is one of the things I love most about Helston. David Owens, duty director for Cornwall Council, earlier told the BBC that the rest centres were all stood down after residents had left.5.39.217.76( }) y( p5 v0 z- y! @# C" E
He said: 'We did have a couple of residents in Mevagissey where we had some 25 properties flooded. We didn't have any attendance in Millbrook where we had approximately 40 properties flooded. Those situations are really improving.'
Mr Owens said there had been more than 400 staff from the council, police, fire services and the Environment Agency working during the night, and numbers were reduced as weather began to clear from the west.
