Rijkaard Dismisses Chelsea Link - 12/10/2007 16:26
The Dutchman was linked with a move to the Blues after his compatriot joined the coaching staff at Stamford Bridge this week, but he has refuted all the rumours.
After the exit of José Mourinho, the British press have continued to speculate on who his long-term successor will be and Rijkaard's name has been claimed to be on the top of tee list.
Avram Grant is currently in charge, but is not expected to keep the post once the Blues identify a world class coach to take over.
The style of play that Rijkaard has produced at Barça is what Roman Abramovich is said to want at Chelsea and he has brought in Ten Cate to unlock some of the secrets.
One thing is certain, according to the Blaugrana boss, though and that is that he will not leaving the Catalan giants any time soon.
"I have nothing to do with Ten Cate signing for Chelsea," Rijkaard said.
"I have nothing to do with this news.
"I am the coach of Barcelona and I am thinking about nothing else."
Rijkaard is tipped to sign a one-year extension to his current deal at FC Barcelona that will keep him at the club until 2010, the same year that Joan Laporta's mandate as president expires.
