In large pot, sauté bacon, onion, and celery in 1 Tbs butter (do not brown bacon). Add garlic, thyme, bay leaves, clams, and clam juice. Bring to a boil. + F4 T \# c$ p. l/ {8 q8 J9 M/ M. n ~$ X6 O! f$ V2 H5 ]
Melt 1 cup butter in medium skillet. Add flour and cook for 5 minutes. Add butter/flour mixture to boiling clam mixture, stirring constantly until thickened. Add cooked potato, heavy cream, salt, and pepper. 3 Q; [' J+ g' s/ P6 _ ( L, b8 \- `; J/ Ztvb now,tvbnow,bttvbSimmer 15 minutes and serve.% D( G# M$ C1 W: Q5 v
