As this incident continues to develop, I begin to see the dark side of human emerging. People made simple comparison between China and Japan at the beginning of this calamity mostly (in my opinion) because of their wish for China to become a great nation. What they read in the newspapers about China were mainly corruption, abuses of power and man-made disasters. I firmly believe many Chinese would exhibit human virtues in such situations. I also agree it was only a few bad apples that tainted the feats of many brave and selfless Chinese. The wound inflicted on China by the atrocities of Japan is yet to be healed, and this only comes with the official apology and acknowledgment of guilt. The handling of the disaster, especially the Fukushima nuclear plant incident, by the Tepco with its attempt to sanitize the facts is blatantly a scandal. It admitted the gravity of the development only when it is impossible to contain the leak of radioactive fuel. This iniquity of the company's management and government put thousands of its own people in health hazard, just to save their own ass! (forgive my rudeness) Disasters can strike anywhere ,just as life is arbitrary, you can only plan so much. Any link between this earthquake and the past heinous crimes committed by Japan is irrelevant and inappropriate.(Most of these comments are from young people who have never lived through the war) Compassion for those who suffer is common and I trust altruistic act is not as rare as we think.作者: jkbthk 時間: 2011-4-2 12:53 AM

About China, I think lot of them not only read in the newspapers about what you mentioned corruption & etc… but most of them suffer a lot as they are living in such environment.
