（阿富汗‧喀布爾）阿富汗今日（週日，8月15日）說，該國戰亂的北部發現了新油田，估計蘊藏量有18億桶。

他告訴路透社：“我不知道它的市價。但初步考察指出，有18億桶石油，而我認為數量會比估計的多。”

他還說，阿富汗會在未來數個月內，為這個新油田與其他礦物的開發招標。

Security is the necessary condition before any mining or oil extraction is possible. In average, it takes at least two years of operation before mining site generates income. Given the fact that Afghanistan faces one of the bloodiest year since the war begins, these 'seemingly' profitable ventures (this oil deposit and the 1 trillion dollar minerals discovered earlier) may have to wait for a rosier time.
