在芬兰南部城市黑诺拉举行的第12届桑拿世锦赛周六晚以悲剧结束，一名年逾60岁的俄罗斯选手拉迪任斯基在110摄氏度高温中蒸烤超过6分钟后休克，经抢救无效死亡。
桑拿比赛是一种挑战极限的活动。参赛选手们在110摄氏度的桑拿浴室内蒸烤，比谁坚持到最后。来自芬兰、瑞典、俄罗斯和德国等15个国家的140余名选手参加了角逐。
110摄氏高温下6分钟后休克
当地时间周六晚8时许（大马时间周日凌晨1时）男子组决赛开始，桑拿房内的温度高达110摄氏度。每隔30秒桑拿炉中灼热的石块上会被自动喷洒0.5升的水。在进入决赛的6名选手中，有4名忍受不了高温的蒸烤，陆续走出桑拿房。
角逐冠军的最后两名选手──曾5次获得桑拿世界冠军称号的芬兰选手考科宁和年逾60岁的俄罗斯选手拉迪任斯基不甘示弱，继续在桑拿房中较量。他们在蒸烤超过6分钟后双双休克，被工作人员抬出桑拿房。
俄罗斯选手拉迪任斯基经抢救无效当场死亡。芬兰选手考科宁被救护车送往医院继续接受紧急抢救。事故发生后，比赛立即终止。芬兰警方已开始对这一事故展开调查。

I don't really understand the purpose of this contest, whether it is a test of 'will' or 'stupidity'. The exposure of the body to high temperature for a certain duration would become fatal, and it has everything to do with foolhardy audacity rather than courage. This kind of competition should be banned as there is obviously no established safety measures.

It is a very dangerous contest because it will cause casualty anytime. I remember I was enjoying a hot spring bath in Chung Fa when I get up I felt so dizzy and was resting
in an rattan arm chair, my sister was wondering how come I took so long, she came into the bathroom and found tcioushat I was half unconscious there. I was lucky to spare my life.
