Valencia -8 - Sparked Rooney's winner with a smart tackle on Ashley Young. Continuedrun up front and was in right place to hit perfect centre on to Rooney'sforehead.
Fletcher -8 - Britain's leading 'big game' player. Never shrinks in the spotlight andharassed Villa's midfield.
Carrick - 6- Improved with time after shaky start. Charged up to support Berbatov andRooney. Made Friedel stretch to palm away shot from edge of the box.
Park - 8.5- Behemouths at the back for Villa lacked guile to stop the spritely SouthKorean. Floated in gaps between midfield and defence. Unlucky to see shot hitthe post and go out. Man of the match display ended when taken off for Gibson.
Owen - 7 -Took goal with effortless ease and struck good understanding with Berbatov. Shameafternoon came to a premature end after 40 minutes as he pulled up with injuryto allow Rooney to come on.
Berbatov - 8 - Heartening performance. Up for the fight withVilla's centre backs and robbed Dunne of the ball for Owen's goal.
