5 _" J3 M) _# @# d/ Q1 l2 g  qEnglish translation of the original ! M, A3 J0 s4 S8 ?& b
The original song was written in 1933 by two Hungarians, Rezso Seress (music)
( l% [+ _* L6 o" k: R7 o6 Land Laszlo Javor (lyrics), and consisted of the first two stanza 5.39.217.760 u7 A% v1 B/ s1 m0 k8 j# |& R

! U( z6 D0 K; Z( ^; nas Zoe Orosz from Hungary pointed out to me.

/ y5 v6 `- M( _( s- P" ]tvb now, tvbnow, bttvbIt is if at all possible, much gloomier than the first two stanzas, almost apocalyptic.
+ m4 m( B$ B' `' zIt looks like the pessimism of the song was too much for the translators and they made their translation a happier one.
# A: z! w7 R" T: I" \! k公仔箱論壇In that case one might argue that the translator has done a bad job

It looks like Javor wrote the first part and Seress the second. It is very-very gloomy. tvb now,tvbnow,bttvb/ S" M" s' X9 _0 Y& T
It seems to refer to the horrors of a war at the end. 5.39.217.76" \9 Q% m+ ]1 _
I'm glad that there's an English version that makes it less terrible. To be honest,
7 K; k; C) g- [3 B# R8 D6 E* o, C公仔箱論壇I don't think it was ruined at all. We are a very pessimistic people, 5.39.217.760 A9 X( E1 `$ l* F# [0 h4 g& t

The war Zoe mentions could be the First World War, as the song originates from the 1930s.
7 K7 x" o/ W2 s1 j0 utvb now, tvbnow, bttvbBut since the second part of the song is even more gloomy than the first part,
