English translation of the original
/ M  ]- J  d' b  `4 UTVBNOW 含有熱門話題,最新最快電視,軟體,遊戲,電影,動漫及日常生活及興趣交流等資訊。The original song was written in 1933 by two Hungarians, Rezso Seress (music) 5.39.217.769 m+ c3 S& U3 D9 X6 n" d$ Q
and Laszlo Javor (lyrics), and consisted of the first two stanza
/ f5 [& ]) Q( R$ j8 _8 S5.39.217.76only -- the last stanza was added later, also first in Hungarian, 公仔箱論壇8 l8 ^- E# m# \# J& U" ?
as Zoe Orosz from Hungary pointed out to me. 5.39.217.762 t' C, U# Z' I1 K( R  X# P
Zoe added: tvb now,tvbnow,bttvb- ]7 a- t! p6 `/ H' |) F
Actually, the second part of the song in Hungarian is not so reassuring at all. $ D$ P% J$ Z2 V( K$ b0 K
It is if at all possible, much gloomier than the first two stanzas, almost apocalyptic. 4 B8 G+ w- g2 g) b6 }+ M' u( k
It looks like the pessimism of the song was too much for the translators and they made their translation a happier one.
: R! F5 Y* x) q" B* W% K) H$ Itvb now,tvbnow,bttvbIn that case one might argue that the translator has done a bad job ' C# p. ]+ i! p9 ^' [
and 'ruined' the song, or in other words: a translator has to maintain the original spirit 3 S1 Q7 K/ o1 A& I2 \( k
and intentions of the song. On the other hand, 5.39.217.76- l4 T, _  u. b. J
a translator may also be more than just a translator and based on the original create a new song. 5.39.217.76% i$ t7 F' X2 G( L
Perhaps the Sam Lewis mentioned in the credits is responsible for this. 7 m9 J4 Z9 S; G  C) g6 E1 }

It looks like Javor wrote the first part and Seress the second. It is very-very gloomy.
6 k: I* h' ^8 Z: IIt seems to refer to the horrors of a war at the end.

9 X) r' B: t. i) g; cThe war Zoe mentions could be the First World War, as the song originates from the 1930s.

Someone said that:
. F& ?9 t/ E. t; O% q$ z! mI like this song very much! It is a little jazzy, and Sarah's singing and the music create the right mood for the song.
1 Q5 B6 a( Z7 `2 Z2 ]One thing is very strange, though. The mood changes between the second and the third stanza,
+ e! T2 c1 D( f3 C$ ^tvb now,tvbnow,bttvbbecause she wakes up and realises that the gloomy first two stanzas were nothing but a dream and the third stanza is then more chearful. 5.39.217.76$ n. }, H) d/ g) S  t/ U
This change of mood is strangely rather abrupt: TVBNOW 含有熱門話題,最新最快電視,軟體,遊戲,電影,動漫及日常生活及興趣交流等資訊。7 t4 Q' R5 Y9 O% R; q7 j
the pause is less than a second -- Sarah has barely enough time to catch her breath.
# }! G+ ~6 d$ o" S6 x- e8 _* k8 X9 ]公仔箱論壇I would have expected the change in mood between stanzas two and three to be build up a little more gradually,
8 R  \) |+ Z5 u6 p# ]" A0 Hin five to ten seconds or so. After all, waking up and realising that it was a dream takes time. TVBNOW 含有熱門話題,最新最快電視,軟體,遊戲,電影,動漫及日常生活及興趣交流等資訊。9 y" K- I- I5 c
Hazan suggested that the last stanza could still be part of the dream: the singer has lost her lover, 5.39.217.764 e3 p* h. z8 I$ S- s4 v
continues her mourning in her dream, and as a reaction to the pain wishes it was all but a dream:

"I was only dreaming / I wake" and also the lines "I hope /
