NEW YORK, Jan 3 (Reuters) - Oil prices surged on Tuesday, with U.S. crude hitting the highest settlementsince May, fueled by strong economic data from the United Statesand China and mounting concern about supply disruption fromIran.

Come on, the oil price has nothing to do with demand and supply !  It is all speculations !  Speculators are using all the news and developments in the world to boost the price of the oil and make money !  If one goes to the oil founders and check the cost of unit per barrel, it can not be anywhere higher than US$10.00 per barrel with a good margin !  The oil price is US$100 plus now ?!

Even speculations, there is some truth in the wind. Gas is more expensive in NY now, n a friend who own a gas station, is experiencing the tough times, so were his friends who owns gas kiosks. I was told, that he is fortunate, that his convenient stall in the gas station is helping out with bad times.
