sweater curse

has anyone heard about the sweater curse?
what it is is, every female knits a sweater for their lover will end up breaken up at the end.
does anyone believe in this curse?
i wanted to knit a sweater for my boyfriend as a christmas present, but i dont want to end up breakin up with him cos of that...
