That's the Star Ferry that I remember, hope it hasn't changed much.  It's really pleasant riding on this ferry, only a short trip, but the view is marvelous.  Beats going through the tunnel any time.

You probably don't know yet that the pier and the clock tower
  ^9 F4 w1 Q! t) u# O/ E0 Hwas retired on 12 November 2006, after some five decade of service. % C+ ^  j0 L3 w0 [1 d/ L  T
The old pier has been demolished and replaced by a new one some distance away. 公仔箱論壇% G. d' u0 `/ ^0 n6 J
From the last picture above, you may find a old pal looking at its construction

The clock, manufactured by the same company as the Big Ben in London,, j" Y: N8 `- Q, K. Z7 P* B" V$ C& Q
and probably made in the same era, was carefully removed and stored up

Thank you Busyfun.  I was back in HK 18 months ago, but it was a short trip, didn't notice the change of the Star Ferry.  It looks a pity that they have remodeled the wharf, it had so much character with lots of open space, we are all going to miss it.  What about the kowloon side? Has it changed too?

Is it good or bad? I don't know. But I am sure, with the tide of history, fading out of famous Hong Kong beauty spots like Star Ferry in Central are not rare to happen in Hong Kong in years to come.
