Manchester United have had a difficult time in the transfer market in the three seasons they went without winning the league title. Ferguson struggled to secure first choice targets such as Gattuso and Hargreaves, and settled for Carrick, and relatively unknown playerslike Vidic and Evra.

However, now reclaiming their title of Champions, Sir Alex Fergusonis keen to indulge in the transfer market, and bring in top signings.

It is almost beyond doubt that Hargreaves will finally joinManchester United in the summer, with the press tipping several otherplayers to join him. Whilst Ferguson won't be able to sign Berbatov, heis interested in taking Aaron Lennon from Spurs, as a replacement for the aging legend Giggs.

It has also been tipped that Ferguson is planning to drop Vander Sar in favour of Ben Foster, who has had an impressive loan spell at Watford.

Gareth Bale of Southampton is on Ferguson's shopping list, as well as Sporting Lisbon winger Nani.

It appears that striker Louis Saha and defenders Gabriel Heinzeand Mikael Silvestre will be the three players sold on to help with the funding of the new signings.



      End of days at United for Edwin

Ben Foster will reportedly replace Holland international Edwin van der Sar as Manchester United's first-choice keeper next season.

Van der Sar's future at Old Trafford is believed to be in doubtafter Sir Alex Ferguson's patience with the erratic Dutchman snapped atWembley, where United lost the FA Cup final to Chelsea on Saturday.

United'splayers apparently pointed fingers at van der Sar for his hesitancy incoming out when Didier Drogba scored the only goal of the game inextra-time.


It was the latest in a series of below-par displays from the former Fulham keeper, who has been unchallenged at Old Trafford for two seasons.


But it now seems that Foster - now an England international after a brilliant season with Watford - will start next season as first-choice goalkeeper, with Tomasz Kuszczak likely to head to Sunderland on loan.
