[新聞] Maserati GranCabrio Is A Topless GT For Frankfurt

We love the Maserati GranTurismo. We love convertibles. So then,it's pretty safe to assume that this new car -- the Maserati GranCabrio-- will find its affection amongst our staff, as well.
Set for an official debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month, the GranCabrio takes Maserati's already hot GranTurismo coupe a stepfurther by removing the conventional roof in favor of a soft top, butstill keeping the car in a proper two-plus-two configuration. As forpower, Maserati's 433-horsepower, 4.7-liter V-8 (from the GranTurismoS) is standard fare, mated to a ZF six-speed automatic. Look for thiscar to hit dealers next Spring.
There aren't a whole lot of scrumptious details, but click through the post to read Maserati's own words about the GranCabrio.
THE NEW MASERATI GRANCABRIO TO PREMIERE IN FRANKFURT
The Maserati GranCabrio, the first four-seater convertible in theTrident carmaker's history, will make its world wide debut on September15 at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show. The introduction of theGranCabrio – the Trident's third prong – completes Maserati's productline-up that now consists of three different families of models:Quattroporte, GranTurismo, GranCabrio.
The GranCabrio represents the very essence of Maserati in termsof open-top cars. It's a Maserati in the purest sense of the word: fromthe unmistakable style by Pininfarina to the spacious interior, fromthe craftsmanship of each detail to the driving pleasure andperformance. The Maserati GranCabrio enriches all five senses in ashared open-air experience, without sacrificing comfort andperformance. A dream car designed and built for men and women who loveto live life in an understated – though sophisticated – manner. Likeall the made in Maserati open-top convertibles: special cars aimed atrefined connoisseurs.
In fact the GranCabrio is continuing the Maserati tradition inopen-top cars, joining models that have played such an important partin the Modena carmaker's history such as the 1950 A6G Frua Spyder, 19603500GT Vignale Spyder, 1964 Mistral Spyder, 1968 Ghibli Spyder and 2001Spyder designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro, the car that marked Maserati'sreturn to the United States. In the footsteps of tradition, theGranCabrio opens a new chapter, because never before have four-seatertop-down models ever been produced at the Viale Ciro Menotti Maseratifactory. Four proper seats, so that the rear passengers are not merelysupporting actors, but co-stars of the journey.
The GranCabrio is powered by a 4.7 litre V8, 323 kW engine and isthe convertible with the longest wheelbase on the market. TheGranCabrio's roof is strictly canvas-made, emphasizing the link withthe Maserati tradition.
The Maserati GranCabrio will be marketed starting next winter, and experienced by customers the world over from the following spring.
