Help! How to balance the download speed from other people?

I am sharing the cable line with my roomate, but I found that his download speed is way faster than mine when we are downloading at the same time. We use the same BT version (0.84) , such as his speed is 94k and mine will be 11k. How to take the balance back? Thanks a lot!!!!!

There's a speed guide if you use utorrent client to download.
Change the setting of the connection upload rate or other things. The download speed depends on the amount of seeds and the speed of the torrents.
You can also try using another bt client like utorrent.
