Sack Wilkins....

Based on Scolaris previous achievments we have to give the man somerespect (although that is very hard right now). However, Ray Wilkinswas sacked by Kevin Keegan (not the best tacticaly minded manager byhis own admission) while at Fulham. He has been a failure in all hiscoaching roles, fact! So why is it I wonder do the board persist withhim? With rumours rife about training being less intensive and dressingroom unrest I really fear that the assistant first team coach is not upto this high profile and challenging job and more importantly does notcommand the respect of the players..If you consider that Cech, Ferreia,Terry, Carvhalo & Cole were impeccable from set pieces for the pasttwo seasons and now they are not, what can that mean? Are they notbothered anymore or are they being asked to play differently? I'm acoach and if I had a back four who I knew worked well in a certain wayI wouldnt change it. Cheslea need an established First Team coach whohas won honours at the very higest level. This man will work with theplayers on a daily basis and is arguably more important than themanager himself. if you have read Mourihinos, Lampards and JTs booksall specify the importance of Steve Clarke. I very much doubt you willread that about Wilkins. I dont want Clarke or Mourihnio back but Iwould like to see Chelsea obtain a top class coaching line up who havethe ability to bring up the youngsters and integrate them with theestablished pros.. oh and preferably a coach who doesnt mention "the guys" would be nice:-)))
