Looking at some of the posts regarding our manager and our recent matches, I often ask if we've become too spoiled.
Let'sbe honest, things could be much worse. We could be Blackburn that wasmanaged by a guy who hadn't won a game since September and are in therelegation zone. We could be Leeds, going into administration. Or wecould've been relegated to the third division and may have struggled tocome back to the top.
Look at it this way; two decades ago wewere in the second division. If you were told that in the 20 years thatwe'd A. Bought by a billionaire B. Win two league titles, a league cup,an FA Cup, and make it to the CL final. C. Have a homegrown captainbecome England captain D. Have a World Cup winning manager, of Brazilno less, manage us or E. Be constant competitors for the league, wouldany of you have instantly taken that on the dot if it were offered? Iknow I would.*
Like I said, it could be worse. There are someteams that will never do the things we've done in the last few years.Enjoy it. I know I am. Even if the draws are frustrating. But I'll takethose and 2nd place in the league over wondering if we're going to endup in the third division. |
