Mourinho called us - Barca
Barcelona director Marc Ingla has confirmed that the Spanish club interviewed Jose Mourinho about the managerial position at Camp Nou, and he revealed that the Portuguese is the one who asked to speak to the Blaugranas.
Mourinho is familiarizing himself with the hotseat at Inter, but things could have been different as Ingla has revealed the former Chelsea boss was interviewed before they appointed Josep Guardiola.
Guardiola was always their preferred candidate, but they interviewed Mourinho on account of the club's status.
“We have always worked with the hypothesis of appointing ‘Pep’, but we know that Barca’s bench is one of the most coveted and Mourinho wanted to explain to us his project for the club, and we listened to him,” Ingla said. |
