On Thursday this week, Chief Executive Leung Chun-ying warned that IF Hong Kong had full universal suffrage Beijing might not accept the democratic choice of the Hong Kong people. He also said that the government has not yet even decided on a timetable for consultations on the topic. It’s against the backdrop of such apparent foot-dragging, and hints that universal suffrage in Hong Kong may be universal suffrage with “Chinese characteristics”, that a movement now named “Occupy Central With Love and Peace” has come about. The group had its first Deliberation Day last Sunday, and it’s the Occupy Central movement that takes up the whole of our show this week. 7 p# j* M) y& w4 [# a5 t公仔箱論壇& x' ^3 Y9 A4 A6 P) \* [8 Q. n
