Lee's office said he would accept the recommendations of a government-appointed committee to reduce his salary, as well as those of his ministers and the city-state's president.

David Cameron makes do on £143,000; the French president, Nicolas Sarkozy, collects £194,000; and the German chancellor, Angela Merkel, earns £190,000.
