The incessant crying of a child for about 10 hours up to 1am Monday prompted a disturbed neighbour to take action, resulting in the rescue of a six-year-old girl locked up alone at her flat in Jalan Perak here. 5.39.217.76% H" k1 w* Q" X6 R( L+ t7 `4 w1 S
The neighbour, who declined to be identified, said she heard the girl crying from about 3pm Sunday.6 \0 w% h1 e2 L* m
"I contacted the police early today when the girl kept on crying," she said.

She had been left alone at the flat by her father, who was spotted by neighbours returning to the housing estate but fled when he noticed policemen at his flat.
